FAQ's
Q: Is the North A-Frame located on the North end of the Lake and is the South A-Frame located in South Lake Tahoe?
A: Yes and No...Both of our A-Frame Units are located at 2500 Lake Forest Road, Tahoe City, CA. 96145. Both the North and South A-Frame unit are approximately 50 feet from each other. South refers to the A-Frame Unit that is "more" southern in location than the other A-Frame Unit and vice versa.
Q: Do you folks still rent/lease the Coast Guard Condos that are located in South Lake Tahoe?
A: We no longer rent out the Condo's that were located in South Lake Tahoe.
Q: Is any of the A-Frame units handicap accessible?
A: Unfortunately, the A-Frame units are not handicap accessible. (i.e. there is not elevator or wheel chair ramp)
Q: Is the number after North-1, North-2, South-1, South-2 designate which floor that particular unit is on?
A: The number designates the amount of bedroom(s) in that particular unit. Since an A-Frame building is wider at the bottom, those units (i.e. North-2 & South-2) can accommodate 2 bedrooms.
Q: How many people can the 2 Bedroom and 1 Bedroom units sleep?
A: Although each unit sleeps the same amount of people (2 on the Queen Size bed, 4 on the two sets of bunk beds and 1 on the sofa in the living room) we are only allowed to have a maximum amount of 8 people in our units. There is no exception to this rule.
Q: Which unit is closest to the water and what type of view will I have?
A: The South A-Frame unit is technically closer to the water, however the North A-Frame unit is 50 feet away. From the deck and the living room from each A-Frame unit, there are partial views of the water and the mountain range in South Lake Tahoe.
Q: Can I rent out an entire A-Frame building (up stairs and down stairs) and/or both North and South A-Frame buildings?
A: Yes, you are allowed to reserve any combination of units/A-Frame buildings for the exact same date but if the dates that you are requesting are not available we will not be able to process your reservation. Please note that you must submit a request for each individual unit.
Q: Is there internet provided and how is the cell phone reception/service?
A: There is not internet service provided at this time. There are coffee shops in Tahoe City that offer free WIFI Internet access. The cell phone reception is dependent on the service provider, phone and location you are at inside the A-Frame units. For an AT&T iPhone 4, I have about 2 bars or 3G coverage inside the bedroom(s) and about 4 in the living room, dining, kitchen areas.
Q: What's the earliest/latest that I can check-in or check-out on?
A: We will turn you away if you try to check in earlier than 1500. The latest you can check-in is at 1800 unless you contact the Stations OOD at (530)583-4433 Ext. 3 and get their prior approval.
